This is a picture of Colmar, France. My ancestors came from this area in the 1850's. The came to settle a wild area of Texas. They were the first ones to settle there -other than the Native Americans, of course.
I love our family history.
I wish I had time to learn more and gather more stories. I know they are out there.
Tonight, while helping my daughter with a project for school, I realized that every male member of our family has served in the military for the past four generations. Most of the males in that current (4th generation) are too young to serve. The one that is of age is currently on active duty.
That history makes me so proud. I am thankful for our history.
